Job Title:
Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Position Description:
Enercon has the need for a senior level electrical or system design engineer. This position will be responsible for taking customer product requirements and defining the design and architecture of the new product to meet these requirements.

This position requires a highly motivated and skilled individual to understand the desired product, develop novel, original designs to meet the requirements, lead the design through debugging, verification testing and onto full volume production.

In addition to hardware design, this position may be required to create embedded software and/or small PC applications during the development of the product.

Establish test requirements to ensure that product meets requirements from design and production viewpoints.


Required skills and Abilities:

• Have sufficient experience and knowledge in the field to be able to interpret customer requirements and determine the approach to developing a design that best meets performance, timing, and cost targets.

• Have strong electronic design abilities using advanced analog and digital components to create original designs based on product specifications.

• Have good embedded programming skills using a higher level language such as C using a range of processors.

• Have, or able to develop, a working knowledge of regulatory requirements that may affect the design such as UL and IEC.

• Able and willing to design within a controlled and regulated environment to meet our medical customer’s needs.

• Able to develop schematics using a CAD package such as PADS.

• Able to work with a minimum of supervision and provide advice and guidance to more junior members of the design team.

• Have a familiarity with test methodologies within a manufacturing environment.

• Be familiar with SMT technology and standard design and manufacturing techniques for printed circuit boards.

• Must possess good interpersonal skills and have the ability to work between multiple departments in carrying out this position’s duties.


Education:
A 4 year degree in a related engineering discipline or equivalent plus 4 years minimum experience in design engineering role.
